Safety Training Courses

NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (8 hour)
Students who take this course will understand the hazards of shock and arc blast, arc flash, and be able to make decisions to protect themselves. Topics include: OSHA 29 CFR 1910: 331- 335 Safety Related Work Practices, NFPA 70E 2015 Articles 110, 120, & 130, training requirements, approach and flash boundaries, PPE Including FR clothing, rubber goods, tools, and job planning and risk assessment.

NFPA 70E Safe Work Practices – Refresher Courses (2 or 4 hour)
These courses will act as refreshers to those who have previously attended the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace training within a three-year period. This course will reiterate the fundamentals and include any updates that have occurred through NFPA.

OSHA 10 hour
The course is for entry-level workers and includes topics such as ergonomics, PPE, fire prevention, safety orientation, blood borne pathogens, hazard communication, walking and working surfaces, introduction to OSHA, OSHA record keeping, hot work permits, electrical and hearing safety, and much more. The course consists of two five-hour sessions.

OSHA 30 hour
Intended for foremen and supervisors, this course will include topics covered in the OSHA 10-hour class, but with more in-depth concentration on supervisory functions. This course can be held at your location and can be broken into a number of hourly sessions.

OSHA Confined Space Safety Training (4 hour)
This course will assist clients in meeting the OSHA confined space entry standards for general industry [1910.146] and construction [1926.21(b)(6)]. Students will learn physical, chemical, and biological principles related to safe working in order to protect people entering or working around a confined space.

New Hire Safety Orientation (3 hour)
These courses will act as refreshers to those who have previously attended the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace training within a three-year period. This course will reiterate the fundamentals and include any updates that have occurred through NFPA.

Aerial Lift Training (6 hour)
Operators will learn types of equipment and their applications, inspection of the aerial lifts, fall protection, equipment standards, electrical hazards, principals of operation, load limits and capacity, grounding, maintenance, operating while an employee is in the basket, and operational capability tests.

Fall Protection (4 hour)
Students will learn two basic types of fall protection, including how to properly attach lanyards and retractables to harnesses, calculate the length of lanyard or retractable to use and controlling access zones. The course will also provide requirements for 100% tie-off.

First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (6 hour)
Learn the skills needed to assess, evaluate and respond to on-site medical emergencies at work or home. The student will learn to administer basic first aid to an injured person, as well as CPR and AED, where available. This course meets all OSHA, CPR and ECC guidelines.

Forklift Operation & Certification (4 hour)
Students will learn equipment operations through the following segments: know your fork truck, fork lift physics, fork truck operation, fork truck safety, load capacity, maintenance, and an equipment operational test.

Ladder Safety (2 hour)
This training outlines safe ladder practices in all applications, such as construction/painting, building and custodial services, warehousing, power, manufacturing, chemical and petrochemical, oil and gas, and at home.

Personal Protective Equipment PPE (1 hour)
Employers and employees will learn about the last level of on the job safety control and the importance of PPE. The purpose and need to establish a PPE program as well as the limitations of PPE and the proper care, maintenance, useful life, and disposal of PPE.

Hazard Communication (2 hour)
This training will help ensure that employers and employees know about work hazards and how to protect themselves so that the incidences of illness and injuries due to hazardous chemicals is reduced. Each attendee will learn about the OSHA GHS (Global Harmonized System) as well the importance of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and where they need to be located.

Lockout/Tagout (1 hour)
This training covers LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and when it needs to be used as well as what equipment must be used to accomplish a safe work condition. Employers and employees will learn the importance of LOTO and how to establish a LOTO program for your facility.
