Why teach CE

Agents have to take the class. Someone is going to teach it.

Every real estate agent in your market has to complete continuing education to keep their licence. They will sit in a room for three hours and listen to whoever is standing at the front. The only question is whether that person is you or one of your competitors.

The shift

Stop asking agents for business. Start giving them something they need.

Most professionals who sell into real estate spend their marketing budget interrupting agents — calls, drop-ins, sponsored lunches, another branded notepad. It is expensive, it is forgettable, and it puts you in the position of asking for something.

Change the conversation you are having with local agencies by focusing more on what you can do for them instead of what they can do for you.

Continuing education inverts the relationship. The agent needs the credit hours. You have the expertise the state will approve. When you teach the class, you are not asking for their time — they signed up for it, and they are grateful you showed up.

What teaching does

Three things happen at once.

This is the framing the program has used since the beginning, because it is what clients report back.

Establish authority

The person at the front of the room is the expert, and everyone in it knows that before you say a word. You are not one of several vendors who called this month — you are the one the state approved to teach the class.

Gain market share

An agent who has sat in your class has a name to call. Relationships follow the three hours you spent being useful rather than the ninety seconds you spent introducing yourself.

Remain visible

Agents renew their licence every year or two, so they need CE again and again. That makes it a standing reason to be in front of the same people, on their schedule, rather than a one-off push.

What it can turn into

One inspector went from 110 inspections a year to more than 3,000.

Jerry Linkhorn built his business by teaching the agents in his market rather than chasing them. His story was written up in Working RE Inspector in 2017 — not as a marketing case study, but as reporting on what changed. He taught the classes. The relationships built in that classroom built his business.

That is the far end of what is possible, not the average. The point is the direction: every class puts you in front of people who choose who to recommend.

The honest version

“I’m not a teacher” is the wrong objection.

Almost nobody who joins the program has taught professionally before. The barrier was never standing at the front of a room — it is everything around it.

01

You already have the expertise

You do the work every day. What stops most professionals teaching it is not knowledge — it is the state paperwork, the course approvals, the rosters, and the certificates.

02

We handle the administration

Applications, board filings, approved curriculum, registration pages, attendance, certificates, and reporting. That is the whole reason the program exists.

03

You teach

You show up, you teach the class, and the agents in the room leave knowing what you actually do. Everything either side of that is ours.

We are approved as a continuing education provider in 45 states and licensed by 50+ certification boards. Over 2,000 organisations have run their program through us.
